American investors reportedly raising funds for Verona bid

According to reports from Bloomberg, American investors Presidio are raising €75m to buy Serie A club Hellas Verona.

The team is seeking new buyers, as President Massimo Setti has managed to balance the books with player sales, but it is not a sustainable situation.

Setti is open to both a controlling and a minority stake, but Bloomberg claim that Presidio Investors are aiming to buy the club outright.

The group of investors is based in Austin, Texas, and would be yet another American company to take over an Italian football club.

In Serie A right now, Milan, Inter, Fiorentina, Roma, Parma, Genoa and Venezia are all owned by American investors, while Atalanta are co-owned by Stephen Pagliuca and the Percassi family.

The situation with Hellas is believed to be at an early stage and it might not even result in a formal bid, as the club and Presidio declined to comment to Bloomberg.
