For Trump, this connection with Indian cricket icons is not new. During his 2020 visit to India, he had famously referenced cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, referring to them as “two of the world’s greatest cricket players.” His remarks created a buzz among Indian fans, giving the impression that Trump not only understood the sport but also respected India’s cricket culture, resonating well with his Indian-American supporters.
